#MoreinCommon
/Around 50 residents joined in our Great Get Together picnic in the gardens on Saturday (17th) to celebrate our great community and in memory of Jo Cox.
Below are some pixelated photos from the day. Games included egg & spoon, water balloon toss, three-legged race, and move the M&Ms, and the children were then captivated by our own cat in the hat, Chris, reading favourites like Green Eggs and Ham, and the Hungry Caterpillar.
Jugs of iced Pimms and fruit punch helped to cool the grown-ups down, and a dozen of our finest residents made fools of themselves by entering the 'first to finish the donut on a string' game.
The last of the picnic rugs were rolled up at just gone 7pm, and the seeds of our next Get Together have already been sown.
Thanks to everyone who came, to Karen for organising and running all the games, and to Chris for being the story master.
We have far more in common with each other than things that divide us. RIP Jo Cox, 16 June 2016.
Storytime: Dr Seuss's Green Eggs & Ham, read by Chris, our cat in the hat.
