Crossrail delayed until October 2019

Yesterday it was announced that the opening of Crossrail, aka the Elizabeth Line, has been delayed by at least nine months to enable further testing of signalling and other infrastructure.  It is now scheduled to open on 1st October 2019.

When operational, the Elizabeth Line station at Canary Wharf will provide residents with a direct, step-free train service to Paddington (17 minutes) and Heathrow Airport (19 minutes).  The route map can be found here.
